Introduction ....

Coreshare was recently appointed by the NHS South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to provide a SharePoint solution, to enable the CCG to best serve the health needs of residents in the region during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The expert team of SharePoint developers worked closely with the Primary Care Network (PCN), which supports 30 GP practices across South Sefton, to improve the health and well-being of the local populace.

The Challenge
The Challenge
At the start of the coronavirus outbreak, the PCN needed to create a resilience platform to support GPs in the region during the pandemic, share information (including best practice), as well as plan resources such as staffing.
The Approach
The Approach
Coreshare worked in partnership with the Primary Care Network Manager for the Bootle, Crosby & Maghull Partnership PCNs, to find out exactly what was needed to develop the platform, and how it could be integrated across the network.
The Solution
The Solution
CoreShare’s team of cloud engineers built a resilience platform which contains a number of functions - from storing important resources, such as the daily Covid-19 guidance and national policies so practices can find them easily - to collaboration sites where GPs can share issues, experiences and best practices.

A resilience score system was created to enable practices to put contingency plans in place for incidents and issues, such as staffing levels, when people are off sick, or when practices became low on PPE equipment.

An alert system was created so that whenever Public Health England informed the CCG of any patients with Covid19 in the region, the PCN could send alerts to GPs, and create hotmaps to show where outbreaks were occurring.

There are also spaces for specialist areas, such as clinical pathways and care homes, where everything can be stored and shared safely and securely and each PCN has its own space.
The Results
The Results
The PCN was delighted with its brand new resilience platform, which CoreShare developed and installed within just two weeks.

Going forward, the resilience platform will continue to be used beyond Covid-19, as a space to connect the practices and share resources.

For example, it can be used in preparation for the winter flu programmes, as well as for GP forums and project planning.

We contacted three companies and Coreshare were by far the best, as they were competitive on price and were able to do it straight away.

The director, Tony Wilkinson, has experience working in the NHS, which was integral to the success of the project, as he understood how we work and he got the resilience platform up and running in just two weeks, which was amazing. This platform allows us to ‘plan for the worst and prepare for the best’ which is vital for planning local health services during a pandemic such as Covid19. CoreShare has done an excellent job in creating a resilience platform for us which has some brilliant tools and features. Plus, it is easy to use – even our more senior GPs like it. We have contacted NHS England and they are very interested in the platform. Tony and the team are fantastic. They worked really hard to pull it all together in such a short space of time and I highly recommend them.
